The New 2012 Volkswagen TDI Engine

TDI stands for Turbocharged Direct Injection. The turbocharger provides the 2.0L engine with pressurized fresh air for maximum efficiency; and after compression, clean diesel fuel is injected directly into the cylinders. Using this "Clean Diesel," the new Golf TDI encompasses two things: engine technology that reduces emissions, and ultra-low sulphur diesel fuel.
